The villa is set amongst the beautiful landscaped fairways of Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club on a corner lot at hole 17. Southern Dunes is in Haines City FL, off Highway 27, just off Interstate 4. During a stay in the villa one enjoys the peace and seclusion of this community and the accessibility of all the wonderful Orlando/Disney attractions. (br) Enjoy gated access, a renowned Golf Digest 4 star rated Championship Golf Course ranked 50th in the US and be reminded of the great traditional links of Great Britain, its design is reminiscent of the famous Scottish courses. Southern Dunes is on Lake Wales Ridge, which gives the golf course a unique topography. Steve Smyers' dramatic hillside layout will present you with a challenge unique in Central Florida, featuring large, fast, undulating greens and expansive fairways flanked by more than 170 bunkers of varying size and shape. With elevation changes of 100 feet, the dunes are planted with shrubs, grasses, and ornamentals. There are clubhouses (one with bar and restaurant), pool, tennis courts, park, playground and party facilities.
Haines City calls itself “The Heart of Florida” and is indeed in the center of peninsular Florida, just southwest of Orlando. Everything in Florida is in easy driving distance. Orlando airport is 45 min, Tampa airport 1 h 10 min. The Orlando attractions are very close: International Drive 35 min, Disney World 30min, Universal Studios 35 min, and Kennedy Space Center 1h 30min. Haines City borders the Kissimmee chain of lakes, part of the Northern Everglades where airboat tours provide the opportunity to see the Florida wildlife. Kissimmee Prairie State Park is 1h 30 min. Day trips to St. Augustine (2h 30 min) and Miami (3h 30min) are possible. The cruise terminals of Tampa Bay (1h 10min) and Orlando (1h 30 min) are also only a short distance away.
